Tank Top Roundup

It's starting to get warmer here in Texas, and while the temperatures have been somewhat mild this May, I know the hotter temps are on their way, when sleeves no longer seem appropriate. I always love prints and a printed tank  is a no hassle way to dress things up while staying cool. Here is my tank top round up:

1. chevron tank from JCP
2. flower accent tank from Old Navy
3. mirror floral tank from Old Navy
4. stripe & print tank from Target
5. floral print tank from Anthropologie

What pieces are you excited to add to your wardrobe this summer? Have a great week :)

Do Not Worry

I've been wanting to do some "scripty" postive phrases as prints, I think everyone needs a little more positivity in their lives and I want my work to bring happiness to others and even be an encouraging reminder to myself :)

Everyone struggles with worry, life is constantly throwing a curve ball and lately I've really been focusing on one of my favorite verses. "Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of it's own." Matthew 6:34.

It's from a larger passage Matthew 6:25-34,  that also talks about the birds, how they do not store food in barns or grow food like we do but God cares for them and makes sure their needs are met,  and how much more would He care for us. That has always struck a chord with me because in the large scheme of everyday life birds seem somewhat insignificant but even so God cares about them and meets their needs. My pastor explained in a way I thought was awesome, "If God cares for his creatures in this way, how much more would he care about his children?" It really reinforced the truth in that passage for me. So after much tweaking, I decided to focus in on that last part, it's a really good reminder for me, not to let worry paralyze me from doing things, to be diligent and make good decisions sure, but when unexpected stressful things happen not to be overrun with worry, just to remember that He is looking after His children, and that worry doesn't add a single hour to your life (from verse 27) it's not productive so don't dwell on it.

So here's my final version, I want to plaster it everywhere as a reminder so I can be constantly reminded and uplifted. I put the print in my shop with other items too, like a mug and a pillow :)
I hope others can find some encouragement in it too. Happy almost Friday to you!

Show & Tell baby shower

So one of my friends and coworkers was having her first baby and we were so super excited!!!
I got inspiration from a invite my coworker found on etsy, the theme of blues and grays and cute little elephants set the tone for the rest of the cuteness to come!

I wanted to do cut out of the elephant holding balloons to put on the glass door as you entered the shower.

here's my one and only not so great pic

My coworkers wanted to do the "she's about to pop" and have popcorn as a snack which apparently is really popular, I'm not up on the latest baby shower trends ;)  Here's my little sign for the popcorn snacks.

I also made a banner in the same colors as the invite alternating polka dot and chevron print.

I also wanted to some happy drawings for the little guy's bedroom. We knew what colors she was going to decorate in and what she was going to name him, so that give me something to work with.

Of course I kept with the elephant theme and the polka dots and chevron prints. I have been thinking about changing it some and putting a different version in my shop. Isaiah get's his own special version :)

My friend Jenn came up with awesome new pattern and Isaiah was the first recipient of her adorable letter pattern in grays and blues of course :) It came out so cute, I can't wait to see a picture of him crawling around on it Yay! You might remember a previous post where she made initial pillows.
Jenn has been working really hard and now she has her pattern available per letter or the whole alphabet!!! I'm so proud of her hard work and ingenuity. Check out her patterns here

We worked hard to give our friend an adorable shower and gifts made for people you care about are always so fun and special! It definitely has got me thinking about doing more party related designs, you know: showers and invites and weddings and cute baby decor items to celebrate and encapsulate the cuteness. What projects are you working on lately?

New inspiration and new projects
