Summer garden

I just wanted to share some pictures of my summer garden, it's starting to get pretty warm in Texas but the plants are still happy for the most part. I wanted to capture everything while it was still happy and blooming, I'd like to thanks my wonderful photography assistant for taking some of these lovely shots. I love when seeds start growing and sprouting, things you have forgot about greet you as a happy surprise. I love that with each new season, there are particular varieties that shine in their surroundings. I definitely couldn't pick just one as a favorite. What plants and flowers do you enjoy the most?

Less sleep = creative burst

Here are some things I've been working on lately. While I've been recovering from surgery, I haven't been sleeping as well, that has given way to some fun doodles. Things had been busy lately and I had gotten out of my daily doodling habit. Now with my limited activity, I'm actually having time now to go back to long neglected projects & it's always fun to make progress on those :)

This teeny bday owl was a spur of the moment creation for a friend, I wanted to make a little cute decoration for the cookies I made. This little owl is very festive with a little bday hat on and a celebratory cupcake :)

This is a little flower I did in procreate I love that you can paint and layer texture/color. It's so relaxing & less frustrating than real painting lol but that's another story.

Here is another drawing I did in adobe ideas/ illustrator. I played around with multi colored pastel curls :) Her facial features were a little big so I tweaked those and thought about keeping the skin tone absent, but it just looked too weird. After much work I got the drawing to where I wanted it.

I can't decide which color version I like better, I'm kind of leaning towards the 1st one with the greenish eyes. I'm really happy with how it came out and I think I will put it in my shop later.

I'm also finally starting to make progress on some Adventure Time drawings, which I'm really excited about! I love all the personalities of the different characters, such a fun show :)

I really love Tree Trunks the elephant, she's just so sweet and loves to make pies, she reminds me of a grandmother type figure. Anyway so hopefully I will be sharing more on that later.

What are you working on lately?

Summer Movie Excitement

Everyone has their favorite movies, & I'm so excited that many of favorite people (actors & directors) are making new films.  There are quite a bit of new and exciting projects coming out, I haven't been this excited about so many movies in probably a couple of years!!!

There are a lot of different genres so I think everyone will find something they are excited about! Here are my recommendations:

If you like Amelie, or Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, or any of Michel Gondry's work, you're probably going to enjoy Bloom Indigo.

If you love Garden State and Zach Braff's strangely awesome story telling. You might be interested in Wish I Was Here. I'm pretty interested to see him and Kate Hudson being parents together. Crazy!

If you are into movies about a musician's journey and/or you loved the musical movie Once.
You will probably enjoy this new movie by the director of Once, with Keira Knightley and Adam Levine, Mark Ruffalo and a slew of other people. It goes without saying that I'm really excited about this soundtrack!

Also if you are a fan of Emma Stone and/or Colin Firth (and who isn't) you might be willing to sit through this Woody Allen period story, Magic in the Moonlight. Which looks totally adorable :)

And finally if you like cartoons at all, you might find this latest offering from Disney: Big Hero 6 which is about superheros recruited to protect the nation. I just really enjoy the robot not coming out like the inventor has envisioned ( I have a similar process when I am making prototypes: what looks good on paper vs. what a two dimensional creature actually turns out like lol )

What about you? Any new movies coming out that you are super excited about?

Big Decisions

I'm a really bad procrastinator, I sometimes put things off for super long periods of time years even.  Recently I have come to the conclusion that I'm not getting any younger and what the heck am I waiting on?! This year I've made some big decisions. I've had the same Corolla since I was 16 she's been a great car & with me through a lot. It wasn't until I started driving my mom's Rav4 that I realized how practical SUVs are so much easier for grocery shopping & up higher so you can see where people are, what a novel concept I know! I thought about how cute the Kia Souls were but decided to mull it over some more(meaning like a year lol). Basically being without a radio for couple years & the relentless summer heat making its annual appearance again helped me decide that now was as good as time as any to get a new car. I must admit, it's pretty great having an awesome A\C, a radio and Bluetooth oh and pretty much no blind spots! It is now a whole new experience getting from point A to point B.

Unfortunately your own group of dancing hamsters are not included with your purchase lol. Also on a random fashion and design note, how cool it would be if they actually made cars in the same color as the pantone of the year. I think my car would look pretty awesome  in radiant orchid.....oh yeah!

The other big decision I made was health related, my feet have been hurting for quite a while now when I walk, and I recently found out that surgery and physical therapy was the only way to really fix my problem. I was not looking forward to being in a cast for 6-8 weeks & asking people for help all the time. But the pain was getting pretty unbearable so I had surgery last week and now I am laying about and recuperating. I have really been amazed at how all the little things I was worried about have worked out, God has provided for me in many ways and reassured me that this is what I needed to do and I could rely on Him to take care of me through the help of supportive family and friends.

God has really shown me a lot this year, that everyday is a gift and accomplishing the little things might be a small miracle but it is a miracle none the less, and for that I will be forever grateful and amazed. All that to say I don't know how much energy I'm gonna have left for blogging in the near future, so we'll see how that goes.

New inspiration and new projects

I love going to museums and admiring some of my favorite artists and discovering new ones too! My goal for this year was to visit a diffe...
