Ok so 3 months ago when the fall trends started trickling in, I kept hearing peplums are gonna be big.
I'd I kept thinking really women are going to want to draw attention to their hips......ok?
And sure enough they started gaining momentum and are pretty much everywhere....even Kohls.
Here's the view from the runway( see slideshow here)

In some cases it's just a ruffle added on top of a tapered pencil skirt shape but there are subtle and exaggerated versions. I thought I wouldn't like it but I tried a dress on the other day and didn't feel completely ridiculous so that's always nice :)
Here are some of my favorite silhouettes....
patterned and belted |
I like that the peplum is tapered and the bow belt is cute |
polka dots give it a fun spin |
I like the neckline and hem on this one |
love the pintuck neckline |
also super cute as a skirt |
peplum top |
1. patterned and belted
2.tapered with bow and polka dots
3. cute neckline and hem
4.burgundy dress and black skirt
5. peplum top
So in a nutshell peplum dresses are pretty and retro, skirts are fun...... but as a top the idea just seems a little disjointed. Do you think you will be incorporating this look into your fall wardrobe? I might try to as soon as I get back in shape lol :)

Way to keep up with the trends! The peplum may look right for a season or two, but it could be one of those things that quickly comes into and out of fashion. Personally, I'm not dying to buy anything with them, but I tend not to be an early adopter when it comes to trends. Btw, I didn't even know those things were called pelums before reading this blog post.
Uh, my hips have a zip code all their own so I don't think I'll be doing this -- it's always fun to see what is dreamed of each season. Thanx for helping us stay up with the latest trends.
That skirt is wonderful!
