Bunnies on the brain

Whenever I get stressed I typically go straight to bunnies, they are fluffy and happy and they make me smile.

I starting thinking about bunnies in cute little outfits for the first day of school maybe.
I haven't gotten very far, but I enjoy the process. I like to give them each their own little personality and details, it makes me want to write a story about them.

I've also been toying with a patterned softie, and of course its gonna be a cuddly bunny. This is what a bunny looks like without ears, limbs and a mouth....lol

I saw this floral fabric at a quilt show and it spoke to me so I had to get it to make a stuffed animal.
I hope to get more done this weekend, trying to get back into my crafty groove after being sick and super busy with work.

Fall Fashion List: Moto Jacket

When mid August rolls around I start getting a bit giddy for Fall fashion season! I love darker colors and being able to wear jackets and scarfs and boots, which is kind of big deal after surviving the Texas heat. Every Fall, I get kinda obsessed with the idea of a moto jacket and then I never end up finding one, but this is going to be the year! The silhouette has been around awhile and I really like the different material options that are out there this season.

                Dressy & Edgy
This black  jacket is from Target! I like the lace overlay and sleeves it gives it a dressy feel but the zippers and cut are still edgy.

      Tough & Comfy
This jacket is from Gap, it looks kind of like a tweed but it's terrycloth like a sweatshirt. I like the contrast details.

Military details
This green and black one is from Target as well, it is a knit stretchy fabric. I love the hardware details and the epaulettes at the shoulder, I'm a sucker for military details.

tried and true
There's also something to be said for the tried and true approach, this leather one from asos has traditional stitching detail on the shoulders and angled side zippered pockets.

What fashion are you excited about for Fall?

Summer Shows

Things have been busy lately but there have been some bright spots. I have recently discovered tv shows that have brought some much needed laughter :)

The first is Duck Dynasty, yes I know but hear me out. I am not an avid fan of reality tv which is why it took me awhile to see what the show was actually about. They are interesting family to say the least and while they do get distracted by outdoor adventures and random projects, they do come together and support each other as a family and that is really nice to see. Especially the older generation, the grandparents teaching and instilling values in their grandchildren, it makes me wish I lived closer to my family that's for sure.

I also read Phil's book, Happy, Happy, Happy and it was very interesting to learn how he and his siblings grew up and how he and Kay started their family young, and how they struggled and eventually came to have a personal relationships with God. I never get tired of hearing people's testimony about how God changed their life. Phil is passionate about the outdoors and it was such a great reminder to see how God can use your passion to touch to people. Phil combines his passion for God and ducks by doing speaking engagements that include a sermon and duck call demonstrations. Anyway, it was really inspiring and a good reminder that God can use whatever circumstances you're in and whatever you're passionate about to reach other people.

My second new discovery is a little more silly, Adventure Time. A show about a boy and his trusty dog as they go on adventures and help those in need. I love all the different lands, and characters, it's pretty cute and kinda random. I finally decided to rent on Netflix because of Chantal's work (aka PonyChops) she has painted a few Adventure Time themed items, and her stuff was so cute and happy I had to see what all the fuss was about. I'm glad I did, I may be older but I still like to get lost in a cartoon every now and then.

the gang's all here
