My New Favorite Summer Outfit

My new favorite summer outfit consists of a super fun button front tank and some drawstring crop pants! Even better they were both on sale!!! The top is from Anthropologie, and I was able to get it on sale I'm normally don't like button downs or woven fabric in the summer ....too hot, but this flowy tank is a breathable synthetic blend similar here.  I really love the print on this tank it has a retro feel and the buttons are so cute too!

I'm a sucker for the little details and Anthropolgie always does a great job. I also rediscovered my Revlon ColorBurst Lip Stain in Smitten, I forgot what nice burst of color it adds, I'm all about minimal effort for a great look.

And let's talk about the fact that stretchy pants are all the range, there are no structured capris hardly anywhere to be found. This summer the palazzo, gaucho, and jogger pant reign and I don't think anyone could be mad that a stretchy waistband is actually in vogue. The drawstring capris I got are from Landsend, they are a very nice feeling Tencel fabric and they feel a bit dressier than yoga pants
and there's pockets to boot.

So let's celebrate the summer of stretchy pant, because you never know how long a trend will last.
I think Mindy Kaling but it best.

Yep, I agree! What summer trends are you excited about?

Spring Wardrobe

It's actually been warm here in Texas for the past few days, but I'm sure another cold spell is just around the corner.

I'm so excited for Spring! Cropped pants, cute tees, and floral prints galore! Landsend has a pretty awesome line up for Spring, I'm loving the printed tees.

And all the floral prints, I'm a sucker for a happy floral print.

And this scallop perf belt is adorable!

I know when you think Landsend the 1st thing that comes to mind probably isn't on trend fashion but they have really stepped it up with their prints and colors for Spring and the quality is great. You get what you pay for that's for sure.

I'm so excited I think I might have to get back into doing outfit posts :)

Sweater Weather

Fall is my favorite season, after a blazing hot summer in Texas there is nothing better than enjoying a brisk morning with a cozy sweater. I have been working on this idea for a drawing since last Fall, an illustration to celebrate the arrival of sweater weather!

I love the drape-y open front cardigans

or  the more classic button down with a cute print and contrast color.

I also really love a touch of embroidery, it makes an ordinary sweater a little more special...

My heart shaped embroidery pattern was inspired also inspired by DIY post from One Sheepish Girl, her sweet floral pattern is awesome!!!
This drawing initially started as a sketch, but then I decided it would be better to draw it digitally.

I'm so excited I'm going to Arboretum tomorrow and I'm taking my sweater!!
What have you got planned for this weekend?
