Enjoy the Process

These past few weeks have been kinda tiring, I got bronchitis which takes forever to get over so I have been sleeping alot. BUT I'm trying to stay focused and find energy to still make things, especially during the week. I have been thinking about how I'm always trying to rush and make a prototype to see how it turns out or how I just want a drawing to work out on the first try.
I'm trying to remind myself to enjoy the process of creating and getting to my end goal. I have been playing with different drawing apps, love the textures it's like finger painting with pastels and painting without all the mess.

Sometimes it's just fun to play

I have also been doodling animals for bday cards and possible prints.
Happy Hippo

Also on a happy side note that have adventure time toys and DIY inspired Paul Frank toys in McDonald's happy meals YAY :)

Happy Tuesday!!!

Top 5

Here's  the Top 5 things I'm excited about now :)

1. The Secret Life of Walter Mitty
I love the awesome soundtrack, Kirsten Wiig's amazing and endearing performance. The graphics and cinematography and the beautiful Icelandic landscape makes an awesome backdrop for Walter's adventure. Oh, yeah and Ben Stiller wasn't half bad! Anyway I loved it saw it twice already and will buy it on DVD later this year.

2. I saw this article in the paper about a local woman who makes applique art quilts, her technique is pretty amazing and her work is so fun to look at! If you look closely you can see the stitch detail! I would like to experiment more with fabric and embroidery in the future.
this one is called Chihuly's Gondola and looks just like installation at the Arboretum

 3. I'm not much into Legos anymore but a recent development has made me so super giddy I think that will change soon.. the Simpsons House Lego Set!!!! You have to watch this awesome video where the designers explain the fun little details of the process and everything. I think I have missed my calling as a Lego Designer lol

4. Disney does some pretty great marketing from time to time, my favorite is celebrities dressed up like Disney characters from our favorite tales. Lovely photos by Annie Leibovitz.
loving Jessica Chastain as Merida

5. Pharrell is amazing songwriter and he's done an wonderful job on the Despicable Me soundtracks, I love the happy fun songs they put me in such a great mood! Pharrell was just nominated for an Oscar for best original song for "Happy". Check out the awesome, hilarious, dancey commercial for Beats By Dr. Dre Pill Speaker featuring "Happy"!

Happy Thursday Everyone!

Love the lace overlay detail it was so soft and flowy and feminine

Reese Witherspoon with Calvin Klein

I always love Calvin Klein's silhouettes, sleek and simple with a pop of color

Nancy O'Dell in Marchesa

Royal Blue is such a great color and I like the floral detail around the neckline

Emma Roberts in Lanvin
Love the bodice and the mermaid skirt and the black
paired with the blue earrings

Melissa Rauch in Romona Keveza
Melissa is rocking the yellow, I love this style of dress.
and yes I do love the Big Bang Theory :)

Hair Color Fun

I've been experimenting with different drawing techniques, and the idea for an ombre hair style popped into my head so that's what I drew.
Mint and Lavender and Raspberry goodness

I've always wanted to dye my hair, I experimented a little in college just dyed the ends but it quickly faded and I got bored and cut it off. I like the idea of an all over vibrant color, like purple of course :)
Some of my favorite bloggers have awesome vibrant hair.

Whether it's pink or purple or somewhere in between, Kate knows how to style her outfits with her hair color in mind. I love her retro style and her awesome illustrations :)

I really love Chantal's lavender purple color, not to mention her awesome artistic footwear creations and illustrations over at Ponychops.

I've become a recent fan of Cazz, at Nerdburger. She's rocking the bi-color look, I think it's awesome!
She loves Comics and Disney characters and makes fun jewelry.

Katy Perry is probably my favorite celebrity hair inspiration, she can make any color look great!
I probably won't do anything with my hair but it's fun to think about :)

Be Bold

I have been playing with my drawing app on my ipad and came up with this colorful bunch of squiggles.

Being bold is my goal for 2014, I want to try new things and go with spur of the moment creative ideas and not be afraid of failure because that's how you learn new things :)
I think I'm probably going to put a miniature version of this in my cube.
Happy Thursday :)

New inspiration and new projects

I love going to museums and admiring some of my favorite artists and discovering new ones too! My goal for this year was to visit a diffe...
