I didn't really love sewing when I first started learning, but as I got better and learned about pattern making I was kind of amazed how my skills came together and now I can come up with things as soon as inspiration strikes. When I realized how amazing it was that I could come up with a sketch and make it into a wearable piece of clothing or huggable stuffed animal I was hooked!
That's how this drawing came about, it celebrates the fun, creative spirit that comes with sewing. All you sewing enthusiasts know what I'm talking about ;)
I'm glad to finally have this in the shop :) Free shipping & $10 off Duvet Covers until Aug 10th

Top 5
I actually got out this weekend and went to a museum it was awesome, here's more of what I'm excited about now!
1. Ansel Adams
I got to see some of his favorite photographs at an exhibit this weekend, it was so great to get out and be inspired. His photography is amazing!

2. Plants that look like other things.
My friend shared this link with me a while ago, but it still amazes me how awesome orchids are!

3. Summer Movies
Summer is ending soon, but there are still some great looking movies I have yet to see.
Like Phillip Seymour Hoffman's last thriller "A Most Wanted Man"
& on the goofier side "Guardians of the Galaxy" I've been a Chris Pratt Fan ever since Everwood so needless to say I'm pretty excited for this one. And on a hilarious side note, I love that Nan Lawson did a Rocket the Raccoon drawing lol :)

4. I'm loving this commercial, especially the laptop sticker of the funny looking cat in slow mo :)
5. I saw this story online awhile ago, about this girl painting Van Gogh's Starry Night on a thrifted dress for her prom, now that's dedication to a project! And what do you know I was perusing Modcloth the other day, and I found a Starry Night dress. Anyway just wanted to share.

Dreaming of Fall
It's officially become the unbearable part of the summer, but we are lucky this year we haven't had that many 100 degree days yet & we have had a couple chances for rain the last few weeks :)
This year my resident gardener is experimenting with pumpkins this summer, it's pretty exciting to see how far they've come in such a short time. We have tried squash before but these pumpkins are growing like crazy!

I'm definitely dreaming of cooler times a crisp breeze in the air, and everything fall. In fact I'm already working on getting some ideas ready for the fall festivities!!! I'm really excited, even though I still can't walk I'm actually ahead of schedule on my creative projects. So thankful for my family & friends that have been helping me get better.
What are you most looking forward to when it comes to Fall?
Also Balloon Bunny is now in the shop and free shipping until midnight PT!

Out & About
This weekend I actually got out of the house for the first time in forever, it was so nice to be around people and doing things I used to do. Like going to a quilt/craft show! It was a little over the top, but it was nice to look around and think about different ideas I've had for a while.
My friend found this awesome DIY project, who doesn't love easy clothing accents?!
Hopefully I will be able to try this soon!
I also finally got to go to the movies! One that I was really excited about! Begin Again, it was everything I could have hoped for, something to completely get engrossed in. I've listened to "Lost Stars" and "Coming Up Roses" all day long, it made my Monday quite fabulous.
If you like Adam Levine's voice at all, you need to listen to this.........
And finally good old fashion on fire inspiration. I discovered this artist on a fluke, and I am quite enamored with and blown away by his work. Peter Aurisch's line work and use of color stopped me in my tracks. I always get inspired when I go to my favorite museums, I haven't had the chance to do that in months. I haven't been this blown away by someone's work in a very long time.
Anyway, it's nice to go out and about and be inspired and kind of get back to normal. What's been the best thing you've done or seen in awhile?

His drawings are really amazing to and his geometric shapes remind me of Picasso.

Summer Activities
I'm struggling with getting my artwork to a complete and finished place. Mostly because I'm tired and still recovering from my surgery in June, I am still on crutches and a scooter. I'm really looking forward to the day when I can walk on both feet, but until then I'm trying to stay busy and work in a lot of different drawing projects
I've been pretty obsessed with watching tattoo shows on netflix, I've watched Miami Ink before, but I got really engrossed in the details and technique of tattooing this time around, how everyone has different strengths and weaknesses and they really want to learn from each others strengths. It makes me want to brush up on my drawing skills big time and work on the stuff that I'm not so great at.
By the way just had to share, because I just randomly googled Adventure Time tattoos the other day :)
I've also BBC shows like Doc Martin and reruns of Sherlock. My favorite new show on during the summer is Rookie Blue, about rookie cops working up the ranks and working together, it reminds of of ER a lot.
It's also really awesome that I can draw a doodle and reformat it and post it on society6 as a new artwork. I love playing with multiple colors and opacity :)

New designs in my shop
Hope Everyone stateside had a happy 4th!! I was able to finish some new designs & add them to my Society6 shop over the long weekend. Society6 is currently running a special Free Shipping & $5 new biker tank tops until 7/13/14.
First up in my designs is my swirls of every color illustration, I've been wanting to experiment with patterns on the different items Society offers. I like how this one turned out and I'm working on some new ones.
Next is my thin mints print, I want to start a series on sweets, nothing like a special sweet treat to brighten up your day :)
And last but not least is my new favorite: pastel girl. I really want multi colored pastel hair, that would be awesome!! I think I would appreciate my curls more ;)
The long weekend got my creative juices following and now my hands and trying to keep up with all the ideas in my head, hope to have new stuff to share with you very soon. Did you get some projects completed over the long weekend? Happy Tuesday to you :)
